Sophie Ann Terrisse, who left a career in corporate advertising and marketing to launch her own firm, founded STC Associates in 1992.

Conceptualizing the Intelligence Management model and methodology on which she first opened her company, Sophie struck early success with clients such as Business Week, Weight Watchers and the Whitney Museum. After several successful years, she saw that her company, originally established as STC Marketing, was due for a change. To reflect the firm’s growth, she renamed the agency STC Associates. What initially began as a one-person consultancy had since has grown into a full-service integrated marketing agency serving clients in a broad range of industries and fields including telecommunications, wine & spirits, luxury goods, travel, health, and nonprofit, among others.

Sophie also served as Executive Vice President of BW Publishing, Inc, where she oversaw the advertising, design, editing, and production operation for the luxury title publisher.

Sophie, who began her career as an attorney, has served also as a Braille, Latin and French teacher at the Institute for the Blind and a professorial assistant at Lycee La Fontaine de Paris.

Giving back to the community is one of Sophie’s personal missions. She continues her work with Happy Days and Special Times, a nonprofit organization that serves the needs of children with cancer and their families. In addition, she has served for two years as the organization’s co-director for its summer camp counselors in training.

Sophie holds a B.A. degree in Business and International Law from University La Sorbonne, Paris, France, where she also earned her undergraduate in economics.
